Sovlab will conduct historical mapping in five key regional cities — Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Poti, Chiatura, and Telavi — to identify individuals and places that illuminate the story of Soviet repression. Thorough research will be conducted to document significant events, personalities, and landmarks associated with Georgia’s tumultuous history under Soviet rule. The project will focus on developing compelling storylines for each city, featuring exhibitions, educational materials, multimedia resources, and civic education sessions that highlight resilience and resistance.
