The project aims to enlighten educators and the broader public about Stalin's true historical impact on Georgia, countering modern disinformation and promoting informed public discourse. Sovlab will conduct a series of workshops for history and civics teachers at secondary schools, focusing on rethinking Stalin’s role in Georgia’s 20th-century political history, understanding the history of the Soviet Union, and recognizing contemporary Russian disinformation tactics. Additionally, a country-wide book tour will be held in cities experiencing a resurgence of Stalin’s figure, addressing local myths and narratives about Stalin through screenings, book distributions, and town-hall-style discussions. This tour will also extend to Georgian universities, engaging students and faculty through interactive sessions and screenings of the book’s audio-visual component.
