The project ''Soviet Tbilisi'' was carried out in 2011 by Soviet Past Research Laboratory with financial support of DVV International Georgia.

The project included the publication of ''The Topography of Terror – Soviet Tbilisi''.

The book includes photo materials depicting the Soviet past as well as one of the routes of the educational history tour implemented by Soviet Past Research Laboratory. In addition, essays written particularly for the project by Nino Zaalishvili, Ana Kordzaia-Samadashvili, Aka Morchiladze, Nika Makharadze and Malkhaz Kharbedia are also included.

A new virtual tour named ''Soviet Tbilisi'' was planned within the project. The tour includes up to 20 different architectural objects, sites or events related to the Soviet past and depicting its reality.
