Project for capacity building of SOVLAB
03 Dec, 2017

Soviet Past Research Laboratory was founded in 2010 and during the first seven years of its existence it had worked only on projects. Despite numerous successfully implemented studies and educational products (guidebooks, exhibitions, publications, films) the organization had never had funding intended for institutional development until 2017. Since 2017, with the help of Heinrich Boell Foundation South Caucasus Regional Office, a program for the organization’s institutional development has been underway, within the framework of which a number of significant steps were made towards more long-term aspirations. The program helps Sovlab to transfer the knowledge and professional expertise to new, interested individuals, broaden its circle of partners and attract new staff basically to enhance the technical and research-related fields. The program aims to enhance the institutional capacities of Sovlab and the sustainable development of a number of educational and research resources intended to critical understanding of Soviet past, it also aims to help Sovlab successfully carry on its mission and pursue its visions. The program lasts till 2020.
